2012 Goals and Objectives

Education/Outreach
  • Develop and disseminate quarterly newsletter
  •  Better utilize website and social media
  • Increase volunteer engagement
                    Engage active adult/retired population
                    Actively engage local garden clubs
  • Review, update and post Adopt-A-Street info on website
  • Work with city/county/regional/state transportation officials to encourage alternative transportation
  • Gather and publish information about status of local rivers and streams
  • Film 2 KNB events and link to website

Programming​
  • Host 2012 KNB approved events:
                     Electronic Recycling and Document Shredding: investigate hosting quarterly
                     Enviroscape: Complete 10 classes
                     Great American Cleanup: Increase number of volunteers and attendees by 10%
                     Walk N Wag: Increase number of participants by 10%
  • Investigate creating new event designed to engage diverse population
                      Host Earth Day event (youth coloring contest)
  • Design and develop Adopt-A-Street review program
  • Host Adopt-A-Street appreciation event
  • ​Engage neighboring jurisdictions through Keep Georgia Beautiful for potential joint programming and/or idea sharing
  • Investigate partnership with Main Street to reinvigorate cigarette litter program
  • Investigate building an outdoor classroom
  • Locate, publish and support local farmers markets on website
  • Implement desk-side recycling program at Business Development Office, City Hall, Public Works and Cemetery
  • Determine a location and install 4 remaining permanent recycling receptacles
  • Design and build Recycled Christmas Tree
  • Increase city-wide residential recycling

Organization​
  • Select and train new KNB Board Member
  • Host 1 training seminar for KNB Board Members
  • Develop Committee structure to leverage program's reach
  • Obtain annual KAB certification
  • Maintain membership in President's Circle
  • Complete and submit KGB/KAB reports as needed
  • Increase sponsorships (corporate and local)
                       Investigate reinvigorating Executive/Corporate Board
  • Develop quantative measurement tools for tracking progress
                       Partner with Waste Industries to collect relevant data
  • Collaborate with Beautification/Planning Departments on Tree City Designation, Landscaping Requirement, Tree Planting Requirements, etc.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Department on status of local rivers and streams

Professional Development​
  • Attend Keep Georgia Beautiful conference
  • Continue participation in KGBeda program
  • Investigate attending Keep America Beautiful conference
